The River Lions have activated 25-year-old guard Kassius Robertson from the inactive list. Robertson, a Toronto-native, spent the 2018-19 season in Germany playing for Medi Bayreuth of the German Bundesliga Basketball League.

In 34 games with Bayreuth, Robertson averaged 12.3 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game, while shooting 44% from the field and an eye-popping 46% from behind the three-point line.

Robertson’s shooting elevates his game to another level, as his fluid shooting stroke and quick release is a nightmare to contest for the opposition. He possesses quick hands and elite shot preparation that made him one of the best shooters in Europe this past season.

Before his international career, Robertson played four years at Canisius College in Buffalo. Robertson was a redshirt in his first season with the Golden Griffins.

Robertson’s work ethic was so high, there were stories coming out of Canisius about the campus police telling Robertson to leave the gym because he was there so late.

In his time spent in Buffalo, Robertson played 100 games, and his best season came in 2016-17: Robertson averaged 16.1 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.4 assists per night while shooting 44.7% from the field and 41% from behind the arc.

Robertson broke out on the national scene in 2017-18, when he transferred to Missouri and started in all 33 games he played in. While playing for Missouri, Robertson averaged 16.3 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists per night on 42% shooting from the field and 43% from behind the arc.

Robertson was expected to only be a three-point specialist next to now Denver Nugget-forward Michael Porter Jr., however his role expanded drastically after Porter went down with a back injury.

In 2017, Robertson was named to the Second-Team All-MAAC as a Golden Griffin, and in 2018 he was named to the First-team All-SEC as a Missouri Tiger.
