River Lions Announce Theme Games for 2024 Season

St. Catharines, ON - The Niagara River Lions announced today the dates and themes for specialty games set to take place during the upcoming Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) season. Five out of 10 home games will feature an exciting lineup of themes that will deliver unforgettable experiences for basketball enthusiasts of all ages. 

With single game tickets set to go on sale next week, the River Lions curated an array of theme nights designed to celebrate the spirit of the game and vibrant Niagara community that supports it. 

May 30, 2024 - Niagara Night

The 2024 Home Opener, deemed ‘Niagara Night’ will celebrate the strong sense of community and civic engagement of residents across the Region. In the twelve days leading up to this night, the River Lions organization will be visiting each of the twelve municipalities with a unique activation aimed to connect with the community and give back to local groups. ‘Niagara Night’ will honour Niagara’s cultural diversity and rich heritage, while giving fans an

unforgettable experience as the River Lions return to the Meridian Centre for the 2024 season versus the Brampton Honey Badgers. 

June 21, 2024 - Mystery Night

Join us for a night of mystery and magic on June 21 where fans can expect to be immersed in an atmosphere of intrigue and anticipation. The evening will feature roaming magicians, character appearances, interactive challenges and riddles, and many more surprises on and off the court. 

July 6, 2024 - Country Night

Back by popular demand, it’s time to break your cowboy boots and western wear on July 6th when the River Lions take on the Ottawa Blackjacks. Fans can expect live country music and interactive experiences where we celebrate the spirit of resilience, independence and camaraderie that defines the cowboy way of life. 

July 14, 2024 - Christmas in July

Santa Claus is coming to town on July 14th when the River Lions take on the Edmonton Stingers in a family friendly, Sunday afternoon game. Arrive early to receive a River Lions Santa hat and meet characters from the North Pole. Be sure to visit the Cub Zone for festive games and activities. 

July 27, 2024 - Fan Appreciation Night

It’s time to roll out the red carpet and show our gratitude for the best fans in the CEBL. Get ready for a night of excitement, surprises, extra giveaways and heartfelt appreciation as we say thank you to our loyal supporters. On this night we’ll shine a spotlight on one special fan who exemplifies true River Lions spirit as we award the ‘Fan of the Year’.

Fans can lock in tickets for these games when single game tickets go on sale April 18th. River Lions email insiders and text subscribers will receive exclusive pre-sale access starting April 16th.
