RIVER LIONS PARTNER WITH HENRY OF PELHAM FAMILY ESTATE WINERY FOR ‘SIP & SWISH’ EVENT
St. Catharines, ON – The Niagara River Lions announced today a unique workshop that will provide women 19+ the opportunity to learn the basics of basketball, while tasting four varieties of wine courtesy of Henry of Pelham Family Estate Winery. The event, titled ‘Sip & Swish’ will be held on Thursday July 13th from 7pm-9pm inside the Meridian Centre. Led by Head Coach and General Manager, Victor Raso, along with River Lions players, attendees will enjoy an evening of live music, hors d’oeuvres and will take home a commemorative wine glass and corkscrew, along with new basketball knowledge.
‘Sip & Swish’ falls under the Workshop Series umbrella that the River Lions introduced earlier this year where events are held, catering to different demographics, while maintaining the core values of networking, learning, and growing.
The goal of ‘Sip & Swish’ is to provide all attendees with a fun overview of how the game of basketball works and an opportunity to meet the River Lions team, all while gaining an appreciation for the wines that are produced right here in the Niagara Region.

We are proud to collaborate with Henry of Pelham to showcase a winery that is true to its family roots and holds such history within the region.”
The River Lions prioritize community engagement as a core value, and believe that providing a bridge between the team, the game of basketball, and the Niagara community is vital to the success of the organization. Non-season ticket holders will receive a pair of tickets to a 2023 game as part of their purchase.
