Will mark team's inaugural season in newly formed Canadian Elite Basketball League

While season tickets for the inaugural season of the Canadian Elite Basketball League are expected to go on sale soon, Niagara River Lions fans can put a deposit down now to secure a priority spot in line for 2019.

Season seats are expected to go on sale to the public in the fall, with individual ticket sales to follow in spring 2019. Fans looking to secure a spot now may place a $50 deposit which will earn them priority placement when seats do go on sale. Previous season ticket holders will have first right of refusal on their seats after the $50 deposit is received.

Niagara River Lions season tickets start at $175 and the CEBL season will run from May through August 2019.

“Since we announced the formation of the Canadian Elite Basketball League on May 2, fans across Canada have been asking when they can purchase tickets. We are very excited to announce that priority seating begins now with the simple step of putting down a deposit on season tickets,” said Mike Morreale, chief executive officer of the CEBL. “Making world class professional basketball accessible and affordable to people across Canada is a priority for our league. In each of our six markets, the local team has put together a pricing structure that includes something for everyone who has varying expectations for their game experience.”

The new league, the only FIBA-affiliated professional league in Canada, has teams located in Guelph, Hamilton, Saskatoon, Abbotsford, and Edmonton, in addition to St. Catharines.

Each team will play 20 games, including 10 home dates, during the 2019 season. The River Lions will continue to play out of the Meridian Centre. The 2019 regular season is scheduled to be announced in the fall.
