River Lions Launch Community Coaches Program

St. Catharines, ON – The Niagara River Lions of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) are pleased to announce the launch of the “Community Coaches Program”, an initiative that will aim to give back and provide resources to basketball coaches of all skill levels in the Niagara Region and beyond. The program, which is free to join, will include year-round professional development opportunities for coaches to learn from and observe River Lions coaching staff.

The Community Coaches Program will include access to valuable resources such as virtual coaching sessions and sample practice plans. Registrants will have the opportunity to attend team practices throughout the 2022 season, as well as the opportunity to experience the River Lions locker room on game day. Coaches will also receive an exclusive discount on Fox 40 products and group tickets.

Knowing the integral role that coaches play in the development of athletes on and off the court, this initiative will be an invaluable opportunity for coaches looking to learn and expand on their knowledge to find success with their own teams and players.

The program will be led by Head Coach and Co-General Manager, Victor Raso, along with other members of the River Lions coaching staff, who will offer up their wealth of knowledge and vast array of experience.

“This program will allow local coaches to be a part of an inclusive community with the sole intention of growing and sharing the game of basketball in the Niagara region,” said Raso. “Community outreach and giving back as always been an important part of the River Lions philosophy, and this program will allow us to grow the game in Niagara by developing coaches and giving them a platform to learn, ask questions, and grow. I look forward to meeting many new coaches!”
