St. Catharines, ON – The Niagara River Lions announced today a new initiative named “Ball in the Falls” which will bring together a select group of elite amateur basketball players in the Niagara Region to provide valuable experience while simultaneously developing professional players that have the potential to improve the River Lions team.

The five-week long, invite only program will feature twelve different high school, USPORTS and potential professional players each week to provide a pathway to success and opportunity to see what it takes to make it at the professional level. The program will further develop the River Lions brand and culture by showing young local athletes, that beyond high school, college or university, there is a viable opportunity for them to play at the professional level at home in Canada.

Ran by Head Coach and General Manager, Victor Raso, alongside Assistant General Manager, Antwi Atuahene, weekly sessions will focus on skill development, as well as live competition. Sessions are set to start on Sunday September 27, 2020.
