Niagara River Lions Group Tickets Now On Sale

Group tickets for the Niagara River Lions of the Canadian Elite Basketball League, are now on sale. With 10 home games played inside the Meridian Centre, the River Lions events will feature full-scale entertainment before, during and after world class professional basketball games providing fans with a fantastic opportunity to spend quality time with their friends, family or colleagues. Group ticket prices go as low as $17 per ticket with attractive discount offers for large groups and can be purchased by contacting the Niagara River Lions front office at 289-271- 5905 or via email at tickets@riverlions.ca. The River Lions open their season Thursday, May 9th on the road against the Saskatchewan Rattlers. Modelled after top international professional leagues, the CEBL is comprised of teams in Hamilton, Edmonton, Guelph, Niagara (St. Catharines), Fraser Valley (Abbotsford), and Saskatchewan (Saskatoon). Each team plays 10 home and 10 road games using FIBA (International Basketball Federation) rules, and player and referee standards set by Canada Basketball. Rosters will be comprised of at least 70 percent Canadian players, many playing professionally in North America and overseas during the traditional basketball season.

A league created by Canadians for Canadians, the league is operated primarily by Canadian executives from the NBA, NHL, CFL, NLL, and PGA Tour. The 15-week schedule will see each team play each other twice at home and twice on the road. Four teams will advance to a championship weekend tournament at a location to be announced at a later date.
