MUNIS TUTU

A lightning-quick, defensive-minded point guard who plays with an exceptional change of pace and an elite ability to distribute under pressure. A native of Cairo, Egypt, who grew up in Windsor, Ontario, he brings championship-proven pedigree from Carleton University and deep international experience across Europe and the CEBL. His disruptive perimeter defense makes him an elite floor general capable of generating transition opportunities out of nothing.

PROFESSIONAL Career

2025-26 Season (Current)

Representing Corona Brasov in Romania’s top flight and the FIBA Europe Cup, he put together an impactful campaign in the ROM DivA, averaging 13.7 points, 3.5 rebounds, 7.1 assists, and 1.8 steals per contest while shooting 39.2% from the field, 24.0% from three, and 71.1% from the free-throw line across 32 games. With averages of 10.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 8.0 assists on 39.2% from the field, 27.8% from three, and 72.0% from the line in 6 games in the EuropeCup. 

2024-25 Season

Spent his campaign in Romania with Corona Brasov, anchoring the guard rotation with steady leadership, logging 11.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 1.6 steals on 45.0% from the field, 27.3% from three, and 71.8% from the line over 38 domestic games.

2023-24 Season

Played for the Oberwart Gunners in the Austrian Bundesliga, putting up a highly productive 15.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.9 assists, and 2.3 steals on 41.2% from the field, 33.6% from three, 71.8% from the line over 27 appearances. 

2022-23 Season

Signed overseas with Chernomorets in Bulgaria's NBL, showing up across 39 appearances with 14.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, 8.6 assists, and 2.4 steals on 38.9% from the field, 27.3% from three, and 72.5% from the field. Domestically, he also returned to Canada to suit up for 8 games with the Edmonton Stingers in the CEBL, averaging 5.1 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 2.6 assists on 34.0% from the field, 19.2% from three, and 44.4% from the field.

2021-22 Season

Suited up for 22 games with the Niagara River Lions in the CEBL, contributing 5.1 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.7 assists on 34.0% from the field, 30.0% from three, 83.3% from the line. He spent his winter campaign overseas in Germany's ProA tier, averaging 16.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, 5.2 assists, 2.4 steals on 44.4% from the field, 35.2% from three, 80.0% from the line across 18 contests for Erdgas Ehingen.

2019-20 Season

Made his professional debut in his home country during the CEBL Summer Series, logging 8 games for the Ottawa Blackjacks where he averaged 4.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game.

COLLEGIATE Career

2019-20 Season

Concluded his outstanding Canadian collegiate run at Carleton University in U SPORTS, posting 11.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.6 steals on 44.1% from the field, 31.2% from three, and 81.0% from the line to win a USPORTS Championship and OUTA Championship title while being honored as an OUA Third Team All-Star.

2018-19 Season

Helped propel the powerhouse Carleton Ravens program to a U SPORTS National Championship and OUA championship, serving as a lockdown floor general and premier facilitator in the Canadian collegiate circuit. Averaging 12.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.2 steals on 43.8% from the field, 39.0% from three, 77.1 from the line. Earning OUA Third Team All-Star honours and USPORTS Final 8 All-Star Team honours. 

2017-18 Season

Transferred back home to Canada to join the Carleton Ravens. Had a stellar USPORTS debut with averages of 7.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.8 steals on 40.6% from the field, 33.3% from three, 72.9 from the line, helping Carleton win a USPORTS Bronze Medal and OUA championship.

2016-17 Season

Played his sophomore year in NCAA D1 for Loyola Marymount, appearing in 30 games and averaging 2.5 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game on 35.5% shooting from the floor.

2015-16 Season

Played his freshman season for Loyola Marymount NCAA D1 in the WCC, logging 31 appearances (4 starts) while putting up 3.9 points, 1.9 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 0.8 steals per contest.



Notable ACHIEVEMENTS

• Won back-to-back U SPORTS National Championships with the powerhouse Carleton Ravens (2019, 2020).
• Named an OUA Third Team All-Star during his senior campaign at Carleton (2020).
• Represented Canada at the Commonwealth Games in Australia, earning a First Team All-Star selection after averaging 10.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 4.4 assists (2018).
• Represented the Canadian National Team at the FIBA Americas U18 Championship (2014).
