NIAGARA RIVER LIONS REVEL 2026 THEME GAME SCHEDULE
St. Catharines, ON – The Niagara River Lions are excited to announce the 2026 theme game schedule as the team prepares to tip off the season at the Meridian Centre in less than two months. This year’s lineup features five unique theme nights designed to celebrate the community, highlight culture, and recognize the fans who make the River Lions experience unforgettable.
Join us on Friday June 5 for Heroes Night, presented by Hallex Engineering. This night will honor local heroes, including healthcare workers, educators, first responders, and community leaders who make a positive impact every day. Fans attending Heroes Night can expect themed entertainment, and a celebration of those who inspire and protect the Niagara Region.
On Saturday June 13, Youth Sports Night will shine a spotlight on young athletes and the important role of sports in fostering teamwork, leadership, and community engagement. The River Lions will celebrate the next generation of talent through interactive fan experiences, recognition of youth sports organizations, and special on-court activities designed to inspire and motivate young athletes.
Fans can immerse themselves in vibrant culture on Saturday July 4 during Caribbean & Trinidadian Culture Night, presented by the St. Catharines Twinning Association. The evening will showcase Caribbean music, performances, and traditions, creating a lively, inclusive atmosphere that celebrates the rich cultural diversity of the region while delivering a memorable game night experience.
Adding a festive twist to the summer, Christmas in July on Saturday, July 18, presented by Peters Construction Group, returns for its 3rd annual celebration and has quickly become one of the most requested theme games enjoyed by the whole family. The event will bring the magic of the holiday season to the Meridian Centre, where fans can enjoy a full holiday experience, including appearances by Santa, carollers, festive décor, and in-game surprises that promise fun for the whole family.
The regular season concludes on Sunday July 26 with Fan Appreciation Night, presented by Crime Stoppers of Niagara. This signature event is dedicated to recognizing the fans who support the River Lions throughout the season, including the announcement of the Fan of the Year. Fans can expect giveaways, special recognitions, and a night of celebration honoring the loyal community that fuels the team’s success.
Single game tickets for the 2026 season will be available through a pre-sale beginning April 7, with tickets released to the general public on April 9. Fans are encouraged to secure their seats early to experience a season filled with excitement, community connection, and professional basketball action.
The Niagara River Lions are one of the founding franchises of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) and the league’s reigning back-to-back champions (2024 & 2025). Competing out of the Meridian Centre in downtown St. Catharines, from May to August each season, the River Lions proudly represent the twelve municipalities of the Niagara Region, uniting fans through passion, pride, and purpose.
