River Lions Announce 3rd Annual Hero’s Game brought to you by Temporary Personnel Solutions
St. Catharines, ON – The Niagara River Lions announced today the third annual Hero’s Day Game presented by Temporary Personnel Solutions (TPS). On Sunday February 25th, the River Lions and TPS will honour the brave men and women of the Niagara region. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00pm against the London Lightning.
This game will aim to pay tribute to the everyday heroes of the Niagara region including the police force, firefighters, emergency medical technicians (EMT), military, and local care workers.
Donning unique camouflage jerseys, the River Lions will recognize the courage demonstrated by the brave men and women who contribute to the Niagara Region. The game-worn jerseys will be available for bidding during the game with all proceeds going to support the Niagara Regional Branch of Red Cross. The game will commence with an opening ceremony to honour the efforts of our daily heroes, involving the search and rescue team repelling from the rafters. At halftime the Niagara Regional Police will take on the St. Catharines Firefighters in a mini basketball game.
“We are very proud to be a part of what is sure to be one of the River Lions’ most memorable games so far this season.” said TPS Co-Founders, Chris Gorman and Gary Harrison, “Everyone at TPS is grateful for the work of those who serve and protect and with the River Lions we are hoping to express our gratitude for them.”
