Niagara River Lions vs. Cape Breton Highlanders presented by Ridley College


St. Catharines, ON – The Niagara River Lions announced today that March 14th’s game versus the Cape Breton Highlanders will be presented by Ridley College.

The Niagara River Lions and Ridley College initially partnered up at the start of the 2017-18 season with Ridley being named as the official practice facility of the River Lions. It was also announced that the two organizations would work together to develop a co-branded educational campaign around physical literacy while promoting the importance of sport participation and daily physical activity.

Over the past few weeks, River Lions players and Ridley students have been filming a series of scenes throughout the Ridley campus that focus on the importance of developing physical literacy. The final video will debut at the game on March 14th and fans will get to learn about some of the fundamental movement skills of physical literacy as Ridley students will take to the hard court at halftime to demonstrate.

For over a century, Ridley College has held a history of basketball excellence where teams have earned regional, provincial and national success for more than ten decades. The independent school’s Prep Boys team now competes in the elite Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association (OSBA). With a 90-acre campus, Ridley is home to 700 students from over 50 countries, offering co-educational, day and boarding school programs for students in JK to grade 12.
